Volunteers Wanted

Gaslight Steampunk Expo is hosted and operated by a 100% volunteer non-profit organization, the San Diego Speculative Fiction Society, Inc. Our mission is to offer fun and educational content for the greater good of fandom.

To make this possible, we are always looking for some great volunteers to help us keep our event running smoothly as many hands make light work. Plus you will earn a free day badge!

For only 3-4 hours a day of volunteer work, you will earn a free day badge for the day. Perks including our incredible Con Suite, that hosts snacks and drinks all weekend long, meeting fellow steampunk enthusiasts, and helping the overall San Diego fandom community by learning how an event that Gaslight Steampunk Expo is put together.

Some of the departments that are seeking volunteers include our Maker Workshop Office (checking in instructors/students), Logistics (moving all the things), Display Room Monitors (make sure none of the items wander off), A/V Tech (running projectors, hooking up laptops), Programming Ops (make sure the presentations start & end on time, change out name cards), Con Suite (restocking or fetching more supplies), Dance Monitors (make sure everyone has their badge), Vendor Hall Monitors (make sure everyone has their badge, fetch snacks/drinks for vendors).

If you are need volunteer credits for your school, Gaslight Steampunk Expo is part of a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, San Diego Speculative Fiction Society, Inc. We can sign off on your volunteer form in support of your efforts!
