10am-11am  – RESCHEDULED – Journey to Antarctica! – Life at the icy and haunting bottom of the Earth – A first-hand account from one of Gaslight’s very own world travelers, on living and working in Antarctica. Including a brief review of some of the early explorers and their tragic stories; the development of research stations on the ice; personal stories – some hilarious, some not-so-much – highlighted with photos; and a Q & A. – RJ Perez – Salon F

10am-11:30am – Hobby Horse Polo Intro 101 & Competition – 3 person Teams, using padded croquet mallets and a soft foam ball. 2 five minute halves. Most goals wins. SOLD OUT! 10am-12pm – Make A Gothic Alchemist Altered Book Journal Workshop – This workshop gets you started on a unique, spooky journal made from an old book.  Provided papers feature mystery, fortunes, wishes, moons, stars and more.  We provide the book, cover fabric, hardware, specialty papers, glue sticks, ink pads, scissors and a pencil.  Just bring yourself and your artistic imagination.  Limited to 10 people. CANCELLED – 10am-11:30am – Spiritualism and the Occult World of the Victorian Time Period – This presentation will cover a deep dive into the history of Spiritualism as well as the rise of theosophy and other occult societies during the Victorian time period, including a timeline of important moments of the subject as well as cover important people tied into it. 11am-12pm – From Samhain to Snickers: A Brief History of Halloween – Have you ever wondered why Halloween has become one of the most popular US holidays on the calendar.  In this slide presentation, art and costume historian Dawn Devine, will trace the history of our beloved Halloween from its ancient origins till today.  This will be a fast paced, lavishly illustrated, lights out slide show. 11:30am-12:30pm – Steampunk It Up: The Art of Steampunk Design by Lady Mechanika Creator Joe Benitez – Watch Joe design and draw steampunk versions of your favorite characters, live! Joe Benitez. A special art print will be given out to all panel attendees. – Salon C

11:30am-12:30pm – Air Clay 101 Demonstration – The presentation is a walk through of the basics of using foam clay for costuming and crafting, going over the materials and tools needed and where to get them. 11:30am-1pm – Saturday Tea Dueling Competition – Join Madam Askew, the Grand Arbiter, with their trusty Temporal Entourage, for your chance to play one of the most exciting Steampunk sports of the 21st Century! 12pm-1pm – Graveyards and Their Upkeep – Have you always wanted to help with fallen cemetery upkeep? Don’t know where to get started? Perhaps you simply find the haunting grounds beautiful and wish to have more reason to stroll amongst the headstones longer. Carol and Willa Taylor will show you how with a deeper look into their own restoration work at the historical Sunnyside Cemetery. Learn the

1pm-1:30pm – Printing Your Own EVERYTHING! Introduction to 3D Printing – This will be a quick and dirty introduction to the marvels of 3D printing by Professor Matt – a manufacturing engineer, with experience of over 50 types of machines and manufacturers.  Matt Greenberg – Salon F

1pm-2pm  – Magic Lantern Show: Protection Against Pirate Airship Attack – The Most Modern Tools and Tactics” is an instructive and educational overview of the present pirate problem as well as presentation of recently developed defenses and measures to avoid these dastards. 1pm-2pm  – Steampunks In Paris – Before we called it “Steampunk”, we called it “Jules Verne” – so what better place to dress steampunk than the City of Lights? Some observations and experiences of international travel with costumes in tow. – Colleen and Shawn Crosby – Salon C

1pm-2:30pm – Charm Bracelet Workshop: Horror Movie Villains, “Nightmare Before Christmas”,  Halloween, or Day of the Dead – Your choice of 4 charm bracelet sets:  Your favorite horror movie villains, “Nightmare Before Christmas” including Jack, Sally, : Boogie & Zero, various Halloween charms, & Day of the Dead.  Total # of students:   6 for Horror Movie Villain set, 9 each for all others. 1pm-3pm – Full Sized Buckram Wire Witch Hats Workshop – Make your own full sized witches hat out of buckram.  Everything is provided in your kit to hand sew your hat.  If you can’t finish in the allotted time, join us on our Discord server for live sew-alongs.  Kits are available before class at the Clockwork Monster booth or at the start of class. What is it about these tales that both frightens and fascinates listeners? 2pm-3:30pm – 5th Annual Teapot Racing Competition – Madam Askew and the Grand Arbiter will be judging another exciting competition of one of the most spectacular steampunk sporting events in the Steampunk Universe! 4pm-5pm  – The History and Culture of El Dia De Los Muertos – A walk-thru history to explain the origins and history of El Dia De Muertos. As well as an explanation of the traditions, the culture and the significance of each element of this holiday. The panel will end with a step by step explanation on how to make your Day Of The Dead Altar at home. – Alex Ferruzca – Salon B

4pm-5pm – SCARY CHRISTMAS – Santa knowing if you’re naughty or nice is tame compared to darker European Christmas traditions and folklore such as Krampus, the Greek kalikantzaroi, Iceland’s Gryla, and the Scandinavian Tomten.  This session will present info and images on such denizens of “Scary” Christmas, and encourage  participants to share their own experiences, if any. – Michele Akkerman – Salon C

6:30pm-7:30pm – Psychic Protection 101: Grounding, Centering, and Shielding – Learning how to protect ourselves psychically is a must when we’re dealing with other-worldly entities or experiencing the overwhelmingly intense energies prevalent at a convention or other event where emotions are running high. We’ll learn the basics of grounding: absorbing energy from the Earth and other elements and discharging excess energy harmlessly into those elements, centering: finding the core place inside ourselves where we gain our inner strength, and shielding: preventing unwanted energies from overwhelming us. 6:30pm-7:30pm – Poe Society – Join us as we share both the familiar dark side of Edgar Allan Poe’s mystery and the macabre with his lesser known and sometimes humorous Steampunk writings.  We’ll look at his personal life as well as read and discuss excerpts from his endless imagination including doomed balloon travel, a horrible plague (sound familiar?) re-animating an Egyptian mummy and secret ciphers.  How well do you know Poe? – Janet Herchenroeder – Salon F

SOLD OUT! 6:30pm-7:30pm – Steampunk Holiday Dome Workshop – Create a shrine to the special haunted holidays in your life.  The kit will focus on the spookiest and merriest of celebrations.  You will paint, glue and tape your trinkets and bits to metaphysical perfection.  Cost is $10 per person. 7pm-8pm  – Storytelling with Your Costume – Join ASGARD Automaton (MJ Kammueller) as she pontificates on the journey of making a magnificent steampunk ensemble, from concept to character design (both original and preexisting), presentation to body language. 7pm-8pm – Gothic Horror and the Existential Dread of the Other – What makes a beautiful decrepit house the center of so many horror stories? 7pm-8:30pm – Drinking with Dickens: A Make & Drink Workshop – Holiday Mixology Demonstration – 21+ only. You are invited to this unique make and drink workshop.
